Ari Morcos is an American computer scientist, researcher, and entrepreneur. He is the co-founder and CEO of **DatologyAI**, an AI startup that automates data curation and preparation for training foundation models.
Neuroscience to Deep Learning
Morcos completed his Bachelor's at Tufts University and earned his Ph.D. in Neurobiology and Behavior from UC San Diego. He transitioned to deep learning, joining Google DeepMind as a research scientist and later Meta FAIR. His research at FAIR focused on representation learning, the lottery ticket hypothesis, and network pruning, exploring how models represent concepts.
DatologyAI and Data Curation
In 2023, Morcos co-founded DatologyAI to address the "data bottleneck" in AI training. DatologyAI develops algorithms that automatically analyze, filter, and prune datasets at scale, allowing companies to train models on a fraction of the data while maintaining accuracy, which reduces training cost and compute requirements.
